Whitney Wilson is a movement teacher, choreographer, and performer. She received her MFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from Smith College, a BFA in Dance and a Certificate in Arts in Medicine from the University of Florida. She integrates dance performance, pedagogy and artistic collaboration to promote knowledge of and action about environmental and social issues. Her work has been commissioned for festivals and events that sponsor alternative energy, environmental action, and human rights, such as the EarthCare Festival and Arts Afield Kickoff in Western Mass, and the We Are Neutral Benefit in Gainesville, Fl. Her recent work has featured multi generational and interdisciplinary casts. Other venues for her work have been Southern Vermont Dance Festival, Northampton’s Arts Night Out, Gainesville’s Art Walks, Museum Nights at the Harn Museum and Swamp Dance Fest at the University of Florida. She is currently an Artist in Residence with UF Health Shands where she teaches Dance for PD and Dance for MS.
